Description
Fermented black beans, also known as Chinese black beans, salted black beans, dried black beans or dul see, are actually fermented black soybeans. Used as a condiment, they add an intense, salty umami flavour to dishes, particularly fish or stir-fried vegetables (such as bitter gourd or leafy vegetables). Unlike other fermented soya products such as natto or tempeh, these beans are not eaten in large quantities, but can be used in small doses to enhance the flavour of your dishes.
